Shanthi Anandarajah is the Owner, Director and Solicitor of James Papas Solicitors, a role that reflects both her ownership of the firm and her legal expertise. both her legal expertise and her commitment to continuing the firm's nearly 50-year legacy of trusted, community-focused legal service. She plays an active role in all aspects of the firm's operations and client services.
Shanthi began her academic journey with an undergraduate degree in Economics before completing her Juris Doctor (JD) at RMIT University in Melbourne. She later completed a Master of Philosophy (MPhil), and holds accreditations as a registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) through the Attorney-General's Department and as an accredited mediator for general civil matters.
Shanthi practises across a broad range of legal areas — including Conveyancing and Property Law, Family Law, Wills and Estate Planning, Probate, Immigration Law, Business and Commercial matters, and Local Court proceedings. She is committed to providing clear, practical advice tailored to each client's individual circumstances.
Known for her compassionate and approachable manner, Shanthi takes the time to truly understand her clients' needs and works closely with them to achieve the best possible outcome. She conducts consultations in both English and Tamil, making her services accessible to the Tamil-speaking community across Parramatta and Western Sydney.

Registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner
Shanthi is a registered FDRP through the Attorney-General's Department. Under the Family Law Act, separating parties are generally required to attempt Family Dispute Resolution before filing parenting or property applications in court. If agreement is reached, it can be formalised into Consent Orders. If not, Shanthi issues a Section 60I Certificate — the document required by law before court proceedings can commence.
